Engle Saez is a results-disciplined, C-level executive with a solid +25yr. record of leading teams, scaling businesses and building global consumer lifestyle brands in the eCommerce and brick-and-mortar retail space. He is broadly recognized for his contributions to the growth of some of the world's most highly regarded brands including Starbucks Coffee Company, Eddie Bauer, Blue Nile, Timberland Footwear Company, ESPRIT de Corp. Sperry Top-Sider and Ashford.com. Throughout his career, he has imagined, designed, developed and commercialized enduring, high impact consumer products, services and experiences that gained him industry wide recognition.

As a young marketing executive at the Timberland Footwear Company, Engle recognized the need to differentiate the brand in a sea of competitors using price to gain market share. He envisioned the company's rugged outdoor lifestyle and brought this distinctive positioning to life in concept shops in America's most prestigious department stores and ultimately via the company's first flagship store, which he designed and oversaw its meticulously detailed build-out in a historic building on New York's famous Madison Avenue.

At the age of 34, Engle became the youngest president ever appointed at Sperry Top-Sider, a division of Stride Rite Corporation. He reinvigorated Sperry with innovative product assortments and compelling consumer advertising campaigns. Engle continued to make high impact contributions at companies in the footwear and apparel industry, becoming president of Esprit de Corp. and later, SVP and Chief Marketing Officer of Eddie Bauer.

As SVP of Marketing and Category Management at Starbucks Coffee Company, Engle provided the vision and leadership for the development, commercialization and marketing of the company's products, services and in-store environments that conspired to create the Starbucks brand experience, worldwide, across all channels. Engle worked closely with Starbucks CEO and Chairman, Howard Schultz, to reinvigorate the customer experience around an enterprise wide initiative, "Smell the coffee / Hear the music."

Engle gained deep functional expertise in ecommerce retail and digital marketing, first as Chief Marketing Officer at Blue Nile, Inc., where he was responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies and initiatives for the world's leading online retailer of diamond engagement rings and fine jewelry. Later he became President of Ashford.com, the industry leading global online retailer of luxury goods and watches, overseeing offices in New York and Hong Kong and distribution operations in Rhode Island.

In addition to his successful career with large, global enterprise companies, Engle has launched two successful startups: The Atlantic Rancher Company, an outdoor apparel and accessories brand that operates exclusively online, and Zovo Lingerie Company, a women's intimate apparel retailer and wholesaler brand that operated in Seattle for 15 yrs.

Engle serves on the Board of Advisors at Zinrelo, Mountain View, CA, a SaaS platform that helps retailers leverage their existing social network to accelerate incremental sales. He is also an Advisor at Rich Products Corporate Venture Fund, that focuses on health & authenticity, plant-based products, food equipment & automation and supply chain disrupting business models.

Engle is active in the startup community and advises a number of early-stage companies and entrepreneurs. He a member of the University of Washington CoMotion Advisory Solutions, coach / mentor at Urban Impact and has lectured at the University of Washington, Foster School of Business Retail Management Program.

Engle was born in Havana, Cuba, and speaks fluent Spanish. He studied at the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture and earned a BS Architecture.
